Thank you to the 29 Ontario Breast Screening Program sites that participated in this year’s Mammothon on October 18th across Mississauga Halton and Central West. Through your dedication and hard work, women between the ages of 50-74 who have not had a mammogram in the last two years, received breast screening with a mammogram on that day. You helped make this year’s Mammothon a truly memorable one, and spread the important message of regular breast screening across our two regions. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Ontario, with one in eight women expected to be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetime. Regular screening can find breast cancers when they are small, less likely to have spread and more likely to be treated successfully.
